The Vegan/Vegetarian Diet – Is It Really More Healthy?

I had a patient come in seeking to get pregnant. I asked what she ate and she told me that she has a bagel with cream cheese for breakfast, a salad for lunch and a veggie burger for dinner. Now I know this may astonish many of you out there, but this diet will NOT promote your ability to conceive. Many vegans/vegetarians are just simply not healthy and they don’t understand that they need fats and cholesterol to increase their hormone output. When your body is rich in hormones, it is much easier to reproduce. So yes I am saying that meat and dairy are a must if you wish to get pregnant. Meat and dairy in of itself is not bad for you. What’s bad for you is meat and dairy coming from a factory/corporation. Stay away from processed meat and factory meat as well as processed dairy and factory dairy. Look for organic and farm sources for your meat and dairy. Meat and dairy will supplement your body and provide it with energy so it will be easier to get pregnant.
