Adequate and quality sleep is paramount to good health. I think many of us know this instinctively, but we still refuse to do it. I always give the analogy of charging your cell phone when it goes to sleep. If you just use it all the time and don’t charge it, then it wont work. The same is true for your body. It needs to rest and rejuvenate. There is a reason why sleep deprivation is a form of torture because it will literally drive you crazy. It is said that every time a baby sleeps that it grows an inch due to the hormone output released during sleep. Despite us not growing as adults, we still produce many beneficial hormones during sleep that rejuvenate and heal our body and mind. The main reason we don’t sleep well is due to excess mind activity. Too much thinking, stress and anxiety can keep the mind awake despite the body wanting to rest. Managing your stresses and living a balanced life is what will ensure adequate and quality sleep so that you can charge your battery and improve your fertility.
